Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) will actively engage in promoting the Busan World Expo 2030 in Davos, Switzerland, where the 2023 World Economic Forum (WEF), also known as the Davos Forum, will be held, according to the country's leading carmaker, Monday.
HMG will operate 58 vehicles sporting promotional slogans for the World Expo 2030 in Busan in Davos from Jan. 16 to Jan. 20, targeting key figures from around the world, locals and tourists gathering to attend the Davos Forum.
Among the 45 eco-friendly vehicles, 18 Genesis G80 electrified models, 8 GV60 electrified models, four GV70 electrified models and 15 Santa Fe plug-in hybrids (PHEV) will operate at the Davos Forum while promoting the vision of the World Expo in Busan.
The Davos Forum is a global meeting where prominent politicians, businesspeople and scholars from around the world gather to discuss global economic issues and seek development plans. The forum aims to come up with alternatives and solutions for various international issues.
The vehicles provided by HMG are exclusively for the delegations of major Korean companies and are expected to be used for the event schedule and to promote Busan's World Expo bid while roaming through Davos.
The Santa Fe PHEV will operate for the convenience of forum attendees as a shuttle that tours major event venues, train stations and lodging areas in downtown Davos. The Santa Fe PHEV shuttle is available for those attending events hosted by Korea.
HMG also prepared safety management plans in preparation for local weather changes and emergencies during the winter. A technical team dedicated to vehicle safety will be stationed in the country, while AWD (always-on four-wheel drive) systems and winter tires were applied to the vehicles dispatched to the forum.
In addition, HMG secured an electric vehicle (EV) charging base near Davos in advance, the IONIQ 5 will be deployed at major events to enable emergency vehicle charging using Vehicle To Load (V2L).
The company plans to install a transparent container with the Busan World Expo logo on it at the entrance of the Korea Night event held during the Davos Forum and display the Genesis X concept car in it.
The Genesis X is an electrification-based concept car that presents Genesis' new perspective on sustainable luxury car design.
