Samsung Display launched a service that helps users to find out whether their smartphones are equipped with the company's organic light-emitting display (OLED) screens. Called OLED Finder, the service is part of the display maker's efforts to confirm that consumers are using its products, the company said on Thursday.

The company said it launched the service at a time when more smartphones are increasingly adopting OLED displays. Through the website: oledera.samsungdisplay.com, users can find out whether their smartphones are equipped with Samsung's OLED displays when choosing their devices' brand and model names.

Currently, the service can verify whether Samsung Display's OLED is installed in around 700 smartphone models from eight brands, such as Samsung Electronics, Vivo, OPPO and Xiaomi.

The company plans to add more models that can be checked in the future and expand its search target to other products such as laptops and tablet PCs.

Brad Jung, vice president and head of the Mobile Display Marketing Team at Samsung Display, said the company launched the service at a time when other display makers are attempting to launch OLED displays for smart devices.

"About 70 percent of OLED display-equipped smartphones use Samsung Display's products, showing that we are a highly trusted brand by both smartphone makers and customers," Jung said. "To let customers know exactly that they are using Samsung Display's high-quality OLED displays, we've decided to launch this service."

Samsung unveiled the test version of the OLED Finder service at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) tech show, which was held in Barcelona from Feb. 27 to March 2.

"Visitors who tried out the service said it is interesting to know that OLED displays are widely used in any smartphone model. They also added that they are satisfied because their devices are using our OLED displays," the company said.

If users search for models equipped with Samsung OLEDs in the OLED Finder, they will be able to see the word "Awesome." The service also introduces Samsung OLED's diamond pixel technology, plastic reduction technology, low blue light and wide color expression features. In the case of models equipped with other display makers, the latest smartphones that use Samsung Display's OLEDs are recommended.
