HanmiGlobal ranked eighth among non-U.S. firms in total global construction and project management fees, according to a survey conducted by a U.S. weekly magazine specializing in the construction industry, Wednesday.
The Engineering News-Record's (ENR) Top International Survey showed that HanmiGlobal's ranking went up to eighth this year from 10th of the previous year, as the Korean construction management company posted $171.9 million in total global revenue last year.
ENR announces the rankings of companies in the construction sector every year, based on their yearly earnings. HanmiGlobal first joined the world's top 20 non-U.S. companies in construction and project management in 2005, when it was placed 18th with $325 million in revenue. It joined the top 10 in 2019, and stayed there ever since.
As the nation's leading project management firm, HanmiGlobal has entered the U.S., Middle East, Southeast Asia and various other construction markets overseas, carrying out over 400 projects in 60 countries.
Last year, it won an order to manage Saudi Arabia's NEOM "The Line" project, which is one of the three major projects for the Middle Eastern country's smart city construction.
The company has expanded its presence in Saudi Arabia since then, winning a 15.5 billion won ($11 million) order from Roshn, a state-run real estate developer in Saudi Arabia, to manage construction of a residential complex in Riyadh. It also secured a 44 billion won order for a massive construction management project from Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA), of which Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman chairs the board of directors.
"Based on our experience and knowhow, we will expand our overseas presence further, consolidating our status as a global project management company," a HanmiGlobal official said.
