Suga, a member of K-pop group BTS, recreated a ringtone that has long been used for Samsung Electronics' Galaxy phones according to the company, Wednesday.

Samsung said the singer remade "Over the Horizon," the Galaxy mobile device's signature ringtone.

This is the second time Suga created his own version of "Over the Horizon," following the arrangement he released for the Galaxy devices in 2021.

"In this work, Suga's goal was to make people dream of a bright future in their daily lives and imagine what kinds of pleasure would be over the horizon. In particular, he tried to convey the positive energy of BTS members to many people's daily lives," Samsung elaborated.

Since the company unveiled the "Over the Horizon" ringtone in 2011 on the occasion of launching the Galaxy S2, the ringtone served as a signature sound of the Galaxy devices. Designed to motivate people to overcome their limitations, Samsung has released different versions of the ringtone for newly launched Galaxy devices.

Samsung said Galaxy device users will soon be able to use the ringtone through a software update.

As part of its marketing strategy, Samsung has collaborated with BTS whenever it unveiled new Galaxy devices since 2020.

When the Galaxy Buds Plus was unveiled in February 2020, V of BTS featured in marketing of the wireless earbuds. In February 2021, Samsung released a video titled "Galaxy for the Planet," featuring BTS members.

For this year's Galaxy Unpacked event on Aug. 10, in which Samsung unveiled its new foldable smartphones ― the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 ― the company showcased a music video "Galaxy x BTS: Unfold your world with Z Flip4." In the video, BTS members sang "Yet to Come," which was released last June, promoting the foldable devices.

Samsung also collaborated with BTS on color marketing. The company launched the Bora Purple Galaxy Z Flip 4, a color that is said to symbolize the group. "Bora" means purple in Korean.

Local seller Mnprice said Wednesday that 36.1 percent of preorders for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphones are for the purple model making it the most popular color.
