Binggrae renewed its fermented milk product Dr. Capsule 1000 in August last year and it saw its sales multiply by 20 times from January to September this year compared to the same period in 2019.
The double capsule lactobacillus of Binggrae's fermented milk product protects lactobacillus probiotics from stomach acid and bile and helps it safely reach the intestine.
Experiments have also shown that lactobacillus has a high survival rate of more than 1,000 times with Dr. Capsule compared to bifidus lactobacillus probiotic powder.
In addition, the oligosaccharide component of Dr. Capsule is a prebiotic that feeds the probiotics in our body, helping to multiply intestinal lactobacillus and suppress harmful bacteria.
Binggrae has also launched a new product called Simple Dr. Capsule, which adds milk thistle extract and oriental raisin extract. The two additives are well-known to support liver health and Simple Dr. Capsule is designed to make it easier for consumers to drink.
Milk thistle extract is a raw material that is recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for its efficacy in improving liver condition. Simple Dr. Capsule contains 130 milligrams of milk thistle extract, meeting the recommended daily intake in just one bottle. Binggrae uses wild premium milk thistle that grows in pristine Himalayan regions.
Meanwhile, Binggrae has once again hired Ihn Yo-han, a professor of family medicine at Yonsei Severance Hospital, as a commercial spokesmodel for Dr. Capsule.
Through collaboration with Dr. In, who has a high profile in the Korean medical community, the company is strengthening Dr. Capsule's brand recognition along with the credibility of the products.
“As consumers' interest in health grows, Dr. Capsule's distinguished efficacy in giving a 1,000 times stronger survival rate based on empirical data seems to be having a positive impact on their choices. We plan to continue delivering differentiated values to consumers and become a strong player in the fermented milk market,” a Binggrae official said.
