Dongwha Enterprise is starting to implement a smart factory platform at its overseas production bases using its own technologies, the company said, Wednesday.

The company already introduced its smart factory platform at domestic production bases such as its plants in Incheon and Asan last year. However, starting with its plant in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, this year, Dongwha plans to introduce its smart factory platform to other global production bases such as Hanoi and Malaysia to strengthen its production competitiveness further in overseas markets.

Dongwha Enterprise is improving production efficiency and maintaining optimal operations by collecting and analyzing data generated via the smart factory platform, and has been enhancing quality and production management capabilities.

"With the implementation of the smart factory platform, we will optimize the operation of the domestic as well as overseas production bases to enhance competitiveness in the global market," said Choi Byung-Yeop, executive vice president of the digital innovation office at Dongwha Enterprise. "We will continue to develop the smart factory platform to lead production innovation and strive to establish Dongwha as a digital transformation leader in the industry."
