Hankook & Company, the holding company of Hankook Tire & Technology, said that it has appointed Senior Vice President (SVP) Kim Seong-jin as its chief digital officer (CDO).

With 25 years of experience in the digital and IT sector, Kim will lead the digital transformation of the group, as well as be in charge of Hankook & Company's digital strategy office, in order to establish a model for innovation based on cutting-edge digital technologies.

At the same time, Kim will play a control tower role in the IT field, by establishing a data processing and analysis system within the group, processing IT-related information and integrating software systems.

After working at Samsung Group, SAP and General Electric (GE), the CDO was in charge of digital and IT innovation as the head of Hyundai Elevator's digital innovation division, and served recently as the director of Google Cloud Asia Pacific.

At Hyundai Elevator, he led the establishment of company-wide digital innovation strategies, introducing new digital technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud innovation.

Kim also led industrial digital platform and Internet of Things (IoT) business development at GE, where he worked on smart factory projects for manufacturing innovation.

"Based on his accumulated expertise in the digital field, Kim realizes digital-based innovations using artificial intelligence (AI), big data information and communication technologies, in fields ranging from production to distribution, sales and service within Hankook & Company Group," Hankook & Company said.
