HanmiGlobal has said that it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Britain's Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), the world's largest construction education institution, for mutual exchange, including content partnerships, the company said Wednesday.

HanmiGlobal is Korea's top in the area of project management (PM) for construction with a its specialty in developing, handling and executing such projects.

HanmiGlobal has recently been test-operating its self-developed "Global PM University," an online education platform to train professionals in the construction project management sector and to provide construction-related knowledge content to the general public. HanmiGlobal said that it signed the partnership to offer CIOB's quality education content via the platform.

The two also agreed to exchange content, such as educational videos from each organization, respectively, and to create a joint program. They also decided to cooperate in overseas expansion and marketing activities in the future.

Established in 1834, CIOB is a global construction education institution with about 50,000 members. It has branches in countries and regions such as the United States, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.

The institution provides a variety of educational content, including construction-related professional courses and various certification programs. The certifications awarded by CIOB are well recognized, as they are treated as equivalent to degrees in the U.K. and Commonwealth countries, according to HanmiGlobal.

"We have signed this MOU to quickly adapt to the changing construction environment and secure content on emerging areas of expertise," Lee Sang-ho, the president of HanmiGlobal, said in a statement. "We look forward to improving the PM capabilities of professionals and providing architectural knowledge to the general public."
