LG Energy Solution (LGES) is providing value beyond expectations to customers. It is rewriting the history of the global battery industry by securing differentiated technological competitiveness and world-class battery production capacity.

In addition, the company is striving to provide sustainable energy sources to its customers in consideration of environment, society and corporate governance (ESG) principles throughout its different business branches. ESG management is being practiced through eco-friendly energy, battery reuse, recycling and responsible supply chain management.

The reason LGES has been able to lead the global eco-friendly energy market, obtaining the world's largest number of patents and the world's leading technology, is due to its 30 years of experience. While some of its major competitors have fewer than 2,000 patents, LGES has secured 23,610 patents.

With regards to next-generation electrode technology, LGES mass-produced the world's first NCM523 (nickel-cobalt-manganese) cathode material for batteries in 2007, followed by the mass production of the world's first NCM 622 cathode material in 2016, securing unrivaled technology in the electrode field.

In addition, in the high-nickel battery field, the company plans to mass-produce NCMA batteries this year. NCMA batteries are evaluated to be superior in all areas of performance, such as capacity, lifespan and resistance.

LGES is actively engaged in practicing ESG management to build a global green battery ecosystem and create sustainable social value.

LGES is striving to create a better tomorrow with the ESG vision of, “We charge toward a better future.” The company's ESG vision contains the will to create a sustainable and better future as a leading company in the global battery industry.

At the same time, LGES is pursuing core tasks internally to realize carbon neutrality by 2050, convert to joining the RE100 initiative to achieve 100 percent renewable energy by 2030 and establish a “virtuous cycle of resources” by 2025. (advertorial)
