Coupang has been enjoying soaring popularity of its signature Rocket Delivery service as a growing number of people have been using the free-next-day delivery service, the e-commerce company said Tuesday.

The firm said it has been delivering more than 1.7 million goods a day recently through the Rocket Delivery service, which is the highest figure since the service was launched in March 2014.

"We have been renewing the daily delivery records and we recently delivered 1.7 million products in one day. Thanks to the popularity of the Rocket Delivery service, we could renew the weekly delivery service record as well," a Coupang official said.

Coupang added its Rocket Wow service also has been logging strong growth. The firm launched the subscription-based delivery service in October 2018. Users who pay a monthly fee of 2,900 won ($2.6) can receive their products via free-next-day delivery and return them at no cost within 30 days after purchase.

More than 150,000 users subscribed to the service only a week after the service was launched and over 1.2 million users are signed up for the service currently, the firm said. Coupang expanded the Rocket Wow service nationwide, Jan. 17.

The e-commerce firm said its Marketplace open market service that links sellers and consumers also logged the highest sales during the fourth week of January, a 92 percent increase year-on-year.
