The South Korean national team moved up five places to 26th in the FIFA World Rankings, Wednesday.
It is the team’s highest ranking since South Korea was 23rd in August 2005.
The Taeguk Warriors recorded wins against Serbia on June 3 and Ghana on June 7, putting them on 787 points to jump ahead of Chile which has 782.
Among Asian countries, Japan with 925 points is still the highest placed at 13th moving up one notch.
Spain remained in the top spot, which it has now held for a year followed by the Netherlands, Germany and England.
Mexico, which won the CONCACAF Gold Cup this month, moved from 28th to ninth while football powerhouses Brazil and Argentina dropped to fifth and 10th from fourth and fifth respectively.
