Kim Yu-na will show her new program to domestic fans along with world top figure skaters in ice shows from today to Sunday.
At Jamsil Stadium the Vancouver Olympic gold medalist will perform her new short program “Giselle” as well as unveil her gala program “Fever” in the new ice show KCC Switzen All That Skate Spring 2011.
It is the first time in 10 months domestic fans will be able to see Kim on the ice. Kim last held shows in July in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province and in October in Los Angeles.
World-class skaters including 2011 ISU Grand Prix Final champion Alissa Czisny, Turin Olympic silver medalist Stephane Lambiel 2008 ISU Grand Prix Final champion Jeremy Abbott, Vancouver Olympic golden pair Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo, former figure skating star Katia Gordeeva and two time Olympic champion in 1988 and 1994 and Nagano Olympic gold medalist Ilia Kulik will join Kim.
The 20-year-old, who returned to Korea this week after taking silver at the ISU Figure Skating World Championships in Russia, has a sore ankle.
“As soon as I arrived here I went to hospital. But I am still a little sore,” Kim said.
“As I had to perform as soon as I returned, I was worried whether I would be in good shape. It is so exciting to rehearse with the other skaters.”
Yu-na’s choreographer David Wilson said, “The opening stage will be like a roller skating venue with eighties’ retro style.” Wilson is also in charge of choreography for this show.
After finishing the ice show Kim will move to Lausanne in Switzerland to take part in the Technical Briefing as an ambassador of PyeongChang’s bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
