The global tire manufacturer has been an official partner of the football club since 2015, and became its first official sleeve partner in 2017.
During this season, which began Aug. 13 (local time), Nexen Tire plans to expand its engagement with global football fans through various online events in collaboration with Man City.
During the COVID-19 affected last season, the company organized various online events such as "Purple Live, Digital," a livestream watch-along campaign in an effort to set up an online communication platform, and "Nexen Road to Man City," a virtual fitness challenge that was held globally. Also, in "Road Trip Challenge," Man City players were challenged to read some difficult-to-pronounce names of road trip locations around the world, including Korea's Chungcheongnam-do (South Chungcheong Province).
Kicking off their seventh consecutive season together, the company says that it expects Manchester City to "undoubtedly perform well in the league this season."
The defending champions will play the second game of the season against Norwich City this Saturday, Aug. 21, at 11 p.m. (GMT).
Manchester City have achieved notable success in recent years, claiming the title for the fifth time last season, during which the club also won the Carabao Cup. During the 2018-2019 season, the club became the first English men's team to achieve a domestic treble ― by winning the Premier League, the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.
