Cleveland Indians outfielder Choo Shin-soo again rounded the bases as the stadium of fans chanted “Choooo.”
Choo blasted his fourth home run of the season for the team’s 8-2 win against Kansas City Royals in the Major League Baseball (MLB), Friday (KST).
At Progressive Field Choo hit a solo home run off Royals starter Kyle Davies in the first inning.
"I feel like I'm getting better," Choo said on the Indians website. "It's not great, but each and every at-bat I'm seeing the ball better and each and every at-bat I'm having a great at-bat."
With the victory the Tribe swept all three games against the Royals extending its home winning streak to 10 and leading the Central Division in the American League.
As Choo hit another single he raised his batting average up to .250 piling 15 RBIs.
The 28-year-old Korean and Carlos Santana got the team off to a good start with back-to-back homers. With two outs, two balls and no strikes Choo sent a fastball to deep centerfield. Royals outfielder Jarrod Dyson climbed the wall but his desperate efforts were in vain.
Then Santana punished the Royals starter again.
After Grady Sizemore extended the lead to 3-0 with a solo homer in the third the Indians fired in the fourth scoring five including a solo blast from Shelley Duncun.
In the fourth inning Royals reliever Tim Collins sent down a fastball with the count on two strikes and no balls only for Choo to hit a single.
In the last three games Choo has batted 6-for-10 with a couple of dingers and five RBIs while skilfully maintaining a five-game hitting streak.
While the Indians smashed the Royals, Tribe starter Fausto Carmona limited the Royals line-up to allow just two runs with five hits in seven innings.
