Suwon City submitted a plan Tuesday to create the 10th professional team of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO).
The city is proposing to spend 20 billion won to remodel the Suwon ballpark with the installation of a video display and skybox. The right for the name of the ballpark will be given to the founding company of the new team.
KBO said that North Jeolla Province also revealed a willingness to host a 10th team.
The KBO started in 1982 with six teams and has had eight clubs from 1991.
NcSoft has been confirmed by the KBO to form a ninth team, to be based in Changwon.
