The world’s No. 2 squash player Natalie Grinham of Australia won the Seoul Women’s Squash Open 2007, after stopping world No. 1 Nicol David’s 51 consecutive win streak with a 3-0 victory in Saturday’s final in Seoul.

At the match, played in a glass court in front of the Seoul City Hall plaza, central Seoul, Grinham, 29, routed the 23-year-old Malaysian 9-4, 9-4, 9-0 to win in 43 minutes and get revenge for her previous losses against her archrival.

This month David beat Grinham to win the Kuwait Open and Qatar Classic.

The event was the first time Seoul city has opened its plaza for a sporting event. South Korea’s capital city, which hosted the event to improve the image of the city, plans to hold the squash competition at the plaza in the future.
