The law enforcement authorities ought to bring to light all the alleged brutal acts of the IT business mogul who may face seven criminal charges, including abuse of power against his workers. At the same time, the labor authorities should change the working environment, particularly in the IT industry, to prevent abuse of employees, and protect their rights.
South Korea has become an IT powerhouse thanks to competent people, especially young workers. It is a pity that such talented workers become victims of abuse and violence. The National Assembly should no longer delay the deliberation on a set of bills designed to prevent workplace abuse and violence, and protect basic rights of employees.
