Jung Dasomi
South Korean archer Jung Dasomi was crowned the best archer of 2014 by the Korea Archery Association (KAA), Friday.
Jung won two gold medals in the women’s single and team competitions at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.
KAA President Chung Eui-sun said Korean archers need to take on the role of “global sports diplomats” at an award ceremony.
“We need to provide the archers with programs that will help them become athletes, leaders or judges that have qualities required in the global age,” Chung said. “We must raise talented youngsters to become the best so that Korea’s archery can depend on them in the future.”
To help achieve this, the KAA has started providing athletes with English language lessons for the first time this year.
