Girls' Generation topped Japan's Oricon weekly albums chart on Tuesday for the second week in a row, the group's management agency SM Entertainment said.

The group's greatest hits collection, simply named "The Best," is the first album by a Korean artist to top the chart for two consecutive weeks. It is the third Girls' Generation album to top the Oricon chart, following "Girls' Generation" (2011) and "Love & Peace" (2013).

"The Best" includes some of the group's biggest hits including "Genie," "Gee" and "Mr. Taxi." Girls' Generation ― Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona and Seohyun ― has been one of the biggest acts in K-pop since debuting in 2007.

The group is scheduled to take part in a concert of SM artists in Seoul on Aug. 15.
