Yoon Song-yee, 31, a former vice president of SK Telecom, and Kim Taek-jin, 41, head of NCsoft, have tied the knot, it was belatedly reported Saturday by the Chosun Ilbo. The couple is also expecting a baby in the fall.
Both Yoon and Kim are young leaders in Korea's IT sector. Yoon is especially known as the "genius'' who received her Ph.D from the Massachusetts Institute of Technoloy (MIT) at the age of 24. She inspired a popular TV series ``KAIST'' starring actress Lee Na-young as an engineering progidy.
Kim founded Ncsoft in 1997, giving birth to internationally popular computer games Lineage, Guild Wars and Aion. The company boasts the world's largest research and development team for online games. The couple met when Yoon transferred to NCsoft in 2004. They were spotted dating in restaurants, golf clubs and other public venues, but had denied prospects of marriage prior to November 2007, when they secretly married.
The ceremony took place in a private residence in Gyeonggi Province attended only by family members. They kept the affair private to avoid public attention, particularly since it is Kim's second marriage.
