As fall approaches, the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Wednesday, announced a lineup of festivals and events to be held in 11 parks throughout Seoul from Friday to Nov. 25. These events are designed to provide people with opportunities to embrace the season and enjoy various activities.
At Haneul Park in Mapo District, western Seoul, the Silver Grass Festival is set to take place for a week, beginning from Oct. 14. Visitors can revel in the enchanting landscape lighting that adorns the fields of silver grass. A lighting show is scheduled every 10 minutes from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. during the festival.
Additionally, the park offers four observatories where visitors can enjoy the views of Yeouido and Mount Bukhan. Several programs that people can participate in are also planned, with over 10 different activities, including crafting bouquets from silver grass and creating hairpins shaped like the narrow-mouthed toad, which is the park's mascot.
For those interested in woodworking, a special program is set to take place at Haneul Park from Friday to Thursday.
At the Peace Park, also in Mapo District, various fall-themed festivals are scheduled from Sunday to Monday. These festivals will feature events appealing to families, such as quiz programs, plant drawing and poetry writing.
Across parks in Seoul, there will also be captivating performances. From Oct. 13 to Oct. 15, the Seoul International Dance Festival In Tank will be held at the Oil Tank Culture Park in Mapo District, where dance enthusiasts, both professionals and the general public, can interact and connect through dance.
The festival will also offer dance classes to the public. Both classes and performances can be reserved through the website (https://ingdance.kr).

At Seoul Children’s Grand Park in Gwangjin District, eastern Seoul, orchestral and other musical performances are scheduled for Oct. 7. Additionally, musical performances and a henna fashion experience will be available on Oct. 15 at Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail in Nowon District, northeastern Seoul.
Health programs are also on offer at Seoul Forest Park in Seongdong District, eastern Seoul, and Maeheon Citizen's Forest in Seocho District, southern Seoul.
Seoul Forest Park will host a range of health programs focusing on diet, strength training and meditation, while Maeheon Citizen's Forest will provide customized health programs for the elderly and the disabled, conducted by educational institutions and welfare centers.
Mount Nam, Yongsan Family Park, and Seoul Botanical Garden will also organize events, including exhibitions and flea markets, providing families with an enjoyable outing in the beautiful fall season.
