Kakao Talk announced on June 20 its official release of “KakaoTalkPC,” a PC version of the mobile messenger application KakaoTalk.

KakaoTalkPC focuses on the core chat-related functions such as Friends List, Chat Room and Message Checked Indicator.

The software also introduces some new perks, including a chat room transparency adjustment function, more variety of alarm sounds to choose from, profile editing function, and PC screenshot transfer function using the copy/paste command.

The “synchronize” command brings a friends list from user’s mobile, which allows sharing the same friends list between the two devices.

Kakao account authentication process is required when initially activating the software on computer. From then on, a logged-in alarm message is sent to the mobile KakaoTalk whenever user logs in from the computer.

One account allows up to five computers to pass the authentication process. However, the same account cannot be used simultaneously by two computers or more.

If user forgot to log out from the computer, it can be remotely done from the mobile by either logging out or deactivating the computer authentication.

KakaoTalkPC is available with pre-booking until June 25, and will be available to freely download from the Kakao homepage (https:// events.kakao.com) starting June 26.
