Lina Korea has extended the term of CEO Cho Jee-eun for another year until the end of 2022, the insurer's CEO recommendation committee said Thursday.
목요일 라이나생명 임원후보추천위원회는 조지은 대표이사의 임기를 1년 연장해 2022년까지 연임할 것이라고 전했다.
"We will reappoint her as our CEO in recognition of her management achievement demonstrated by stable organizational operation despite the pandemic-induced difficult market environment," the committee said.
임원후보추천위원회는 "대표이사 취임 이후 코로나19라는 어려운 여건 속에서도 안정적인 조직 운영과 경영성과를 이뤄내 지속적인 회사의 성장을 위해 재선임을 추진하고자 한다"고 설명했다.
Cho made headlines last year as the only female CEO in Korea's insurance industry.
지난해 조 대표는 보험업계에서 유일한 여성 CEO로서 대대적으로 보도된 바 있다.
Born in 1975, she is also the youngest CEO in the industry.

Its net profit between January and June came in at 165 billion won ($138.7 million), declining slightly from 174 billion won a year ago.
올해 1월부터 6월까지 6개월간 라이나생명의 순이익은 165억원으로 174억을 기록한 지난 해와 비교해 약간 감소했다.
But given the pandemic-sparked financial uncertainties here and abroad, the performance is considered to be solid within the industry.
그러나 팬데믹으로 유발된 국내외 재정적 불확실성을 감안하면 이 성과는 보험업계에서는 견고한 것으로 여겨진다.
