The principal of a provincial elementary school is involved in a controversy for slapping a female teacher and forcing other staff to pour drinks during a dinner party.

According to a teachers' association in Hongsung in South Chungchong Province Tuesday, the principal slapped a male teacher in his 30s during a dinner organized to welcome him to the elementary school.

He then proceeded to force female teachers to pour him drinks, hinting that those who refused may face disadvantages in school activities.

In fact, he went to the extent of making young female teachers in their 20s to kneel down while pouring the alcoholic drinks for him.

The dinner party continued for about 4 hours and many of the 60 teachers who were in attendance had to queue up to serve up the drinks for the principal.

The principal did not respond to requests for comments, merely saying through a staff that the slap on the face was an expression of affection and that he did not force anyone to pour him drinks.
