South Korea said it will counterattack any provocations from North Korea as the military state is expected to launch another attack over this weekend.
The South's Defense Ministry sent a warning message to the North earlier Friday saying the South will not tolerate the North's further attacks. The message said the North's attack was a clear violation of the armistice and their non-aggression agreement.
On Thursday, the North fired artillery rounds over the western part of the military demarcation line, prompting the South to fire back dozens of shells in return.
The South's military is maintaining its top-level vigilance posture to react sternly to any kinds of attacks by the North, according to the ministry.
