BIGBANG's Taeyang, Daesung discharged from military

빅뱅 태양·대성 나란히 전역신고...'민간인' 컴백

Taeyang and Daesung of K-pop boy band BIGBANG returned to civilian life on Sunday.

그룹 빅뱅의 멤버 태양과 대성이 지난 일요일 전역하며 민간인 신분으로 돌아왔다.

The two had a discharge ceremony on Sunday morning in front of the Ground Operations Command in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. Thousands of international fans greeted the singers.

태양과 대성은 일요일 아침 경기도 용인에 있는 육군 지상작전사령부에서 전역 신고식을 치렀다. 세계 각지에서 찾아온 많은 팬들이 이들의 전역을 축하했다.

"I still can't believe I am discharged from the military," Taeyang, 31, said. "I think I had a meaningful time (there.) I want to thank my brothers in arms and the military officials who guided me during my 20-month service."

태양(31)은 "전역이 아직도 믿기지 않는다"라며 "정말 의미 있는 시간을 보낸 것 같고 부족한 저를 20개월 동안 이끌어준 간부님들과 전우들한테 감사의 말을 전하고 싶다"고 전역 소감을 밝혔다.

Daesung, 30, said: "While being enlisted, I felt a lot of things that I couldn't when I was outside the army. I also learnt ways to understand other people's minds."

대성(30)도 "사회생활을 하면서 느끼지 못했던 감정들을 많이 느꼈다. 다른 사람들을 이해할 수 있는 마음을 더 많이 배운 것 같다"고 말했다.

Taeyang also hinted at the group's future, saying BIGBANG members will have a discussion. "We want to pay you back with rocking performances," he said.

태양은 빅뱅 멤버들끼리 의견을 모을 것이라고 말하며 그룹의 향후 활동 계획에 대해 알렸다. 그는 "좋은 모습으로 여러분들에게 보답 드리고 싶다"며 솔직한 심정을 전했다.

As of Sunday, all BIGBANG members ― G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang and Daesung ― have finished their obligatory military service. But the band's agency YG Entertainment has not yet revealed details of the group's future.

일요일자로 빅뱅의 모든 멤버들(지드래곤, 탑, 태양, 대성)이 병역의무를 마치게 됐다. 하지만 빅뱅의 소속사인 YG엔터테인먼트는 그룹의 향후 계획에 대해 밝히지 않은 상태다.

The group debuted with five members in 2006, but the youngest, Seungri, left in March this year after a nightclub affiliated with him was mired in a various scandals involving drugs and sex crimes.

그룹 빅뱅은 2006년 5인조 그룹으로 데뷔했지만, 지난 3월 막내 멤버 승리가 마약 및 성범죄와 연루된 '버닝썬 스캔들'에 휩싸이며 팀을 탈퇴했다.
