Local band LRD is to host a ``send-off'' for its guitarist Lance Reegan-Diehl at the Hard Rock Cafe Saturday at 9 p.m.
Reegan-Diehl will be off to attend the NAMM show as a guest artist for JamMate USB Guitars, SIMS, Samick, and Sound Drive amplifiers from Jan. 15 through 18.
The NAMM show is considered the largest music products trade show in the world, its only major competition being the Musik Messe in Frankfurt. It is held every January in Anaheim, California, the U.S. at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The January 2008 show had 1,560 exhibitors and a record-breaking 88,100 attendees. The show is open only to members of the music trade.
NAMM originally stood for National Association of Music Merchants, but has evolved from a national entity representing the interests of music products retailers to an international association including both commercial, retail members and affiliates. Therefore, the long form of the name is no longer used, and it is simply known as NAMM, the International Music Products Association
Multi-national foursome LRD is made up of Lance Reegan-Diehl (Canada) on guitar and vocals, Megan Kim (Canada/Korea) on vocals, David Dauberman (U.S.A.) on bass and Brian Thompson (U.S.A.) on drums.
While the band is perhaps most famous for front man Lance Reegan-Diehl (LRD) and his mesmerizing guitar work, every group member is equally important, each delivering his or her own vital and unique component to LRD, a must see on any music tour of Seoul.
The band has been playing together all over Korea and Asia for nine years. While a majority of their shows and efforts have been in Seoul, they've also held gigs in Daejeon, Daegu, Osan, Uijeongbu and as far south as Gwangju and Busan.
They are also quite popular among members of the U.S. Armed Forces in Asia for their numerous and frequent performances for the troops and their allies.
