K-pop was the most popular music genre among Instagram users worldwide, the social media app said Thursday.
K-pop ranked ahead of hip-hop, rap and R&B as the most mentioned music genre this year on Instagram. K-pop stars also dominated the ranking of the celebrities with the most followers.
G-Dragon of the boyband BigBang (@xxxibgdrgn) gained more than 3 million followers in 2015 alone, followed by Taeyeon of Girls' Generation (@taeyeon_ss), EXO members Chanyeol (@real__pcy), Baekhyun (@baekhyunee_exo) and Sehun (@oohsehun).
Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul was the most tagged place on Instagram this year. And more photos and videos were uploaded on Children's Day, May 5, than any other day of 2015. (Yonhap)
