A minor 2.2-magnitude earthquake rattled the southwestern coastal town of Yeongdeok, the state weather agency said on Tuesday.
It happened at 12:12 a.m. 12 kilometers east-southeast of the town, the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said. There were no reports of casualties or property damage, it said.
It was the 59th seismic activity to hit the Korean Peninsula at a magnitude of 2.0 or stronger this year.
