Jeonju Bibimbap Festival will offer visitors the chance to enjoy different kinds of bibimbap, a mixed bowl of rice and vegetables, from Thursday to Sunday in Jeonju Hanok Village and the National Intangible Heritage Center in the North Jeolla provincial city.

Suring the four-day festival, people will be able tour historic sites at the village and traditional Korean homes where they can prepare and taste the traditional Korean food.

Visitors can make their own bibimbap with prepared ingredients on the first day near the Hyanggyo Culture Center.

Cooking classes will open to make rice cakes, such as chocolate rice cake bars and injeolmi, rice cake coated with bean flour. A market will also offer foods from countries in South America, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

On Saturday, a mega-sized bibimbap will be prepared to serve 1,000 people, while on the last day, 30 teams will show their bibimbap cooking skills in a contest ― and the crowds can try the food afterward.

On the sidelines of the festival, the city will hold the second Jeonju World Slowness Forum and Slowness Award.
