By Kim Ji-soo

Pop stars Sting, Beyonce and Christina Aguilera and actress Zhang Ziyi visited here. Pianist Maxim and model Maggie Q also stayed here.

The "here" is the Extreme Wow Suite at the W Seoul-Walkerhill, in Gwangjang, Seoul.

Located on the 13th floor of the hotel, the suite sprawls for 273 square meters offering a view of the Han River and Mt. Acha. Decorated in the simple contrasting ― yet comforting ― colors of red and white, the suite is fully equipped with a kitchen, bar, dining room, study, bedroom and dressing room. A large jacuzzi sits adjacent to the bedroom where guests can wash away the day's fatigue. For visual and audio enjoyment, the suite has a large PDP TV and BOSE home theater systems. The striking contrast that the red and white colors offer provides the guests with the feeling that they are at a home away from home.

The suite is popular among Korean celebrities. Leading Korean actor Kim Seung-woo and his wife Kim Nam-joo spent their first honeymoon night here; as did actor Cha Tae-hyun and his wife.

The Extreme Wow Suite is one of the five types of suites that the W Seoul-Walkerhill has among its 252 rooms. The others are the Wonderful Room, Fabulous Room Spa, Fabulous Room Scent and Cool Corner Room. The Wonderful, Fabulous Room Spa and Scent all measure 42 square meters and each feature different colors to give the utmost relaxation to guests. But as the names suggest, the Fabulous Room Spa has a spa while the Fabulous Room Scent offers candles and in-room therapy to assuage the senses. The Cool Corner Room is slightly larger, measuring 56 square meters and has a distinctive circular bed and bathtub.

When the guests step outside, they can enjoy varying array of fine cuisine at Namu, a contemporary Japanese dining venue with 163 seats. Namu has the ICE section for sushi and sashimi, the LIQUID bar for drinks, and the ACTION space for Teppan-creations and private dining rooms.

There is also the Kitchen that provides creative dishes with a multitude of influences

For those guests curious about the nightlife, the hotel's WooBar has the city's longest bar with a broad range of drinks including up to 40 types of vodka and 200 fine wines; and a DJ booth.

After work and entertainment, guests can chill out at the AWAY Spa where check-in starts on the third floor. The spa offers a water zone including outdoor jacuzzis overlooking the Han River and a sauna.

The W Seoul-Walkerhill, the world's foremost "style" hotel brand of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Inc., is the first W Hotel in Asia. Billed as a sumptuous haven with urban sensibilities, and a unique design and dramatic use of space and color, the hotel has been wowing guests with a stunning new lifestyle experience by rejecting the carbon-copy trend of traditional hotels.

The hotel's singular structures and spaces were developed by international architects and interior designers, such as Studio Gaia (New York), RAD (Hong Kong), and Tony Chi (New York).

The sheer power of its location ― with Mt. Acha in the background and the Han River below ― makes it a beautiful urban resort destination that provides its renowned "Whatever and Whenever" service.
