Nine civil servants from five Asian countries visited the Songpa District Office in southern Seoul this week to learn about the administration’s environment development policies.
The participants from Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Iran, China and Mongolia were lectured about establishing an environmentally-friendly sewage management system, encouraging bicycle and renewable energy usage and recycling policies. The group then visited a water-purifying center, Bokjeong parking lot, eco-friendly playgrounds, Bangyi wetlands and many other facilities representing the grand vision of Songpa.
They also, visited Olympic Park, Gyeongbok Palace, Cheonggye Plaza, N Tower on Mt. Nam and other famous sites in Seoul that shows the “now and future” of Korea.
The training was held after the district office was awarded the 2010 LivCom Award, given to cities with good environment and infrastructure. Songpa is to host the 2011 award ceremony.
