A seemingly meaningful remark that the K-pop boy band's leader made early October has come under scrutiny again, raising speculation about his possible exit from the group.
그룹 빅뱅의 리더 지드래곤(본명 권지용)이 10월 초 언급한 의미 있어 보이는 발언이 다시금 화제가 되며 지드래곤의 탈퇴 가능성에 대한 추측이 제기되고 있다.
G-Dragon's Instagram post read: "Live for yourself. Let the world turn without you. It's not the end of the world without you. Don't take yourself too seriously."
지드래곤의 인스타그램에는 "너 자신을 위해 살아라. 너 없이도 세상이 돌아가도록 내버려 두어라. 네가 없어도 세상이 끝나는 것은 아니다. 너무 심각하게 생각하지 마라"는 글이 영어로 올라왔다.
But BIGBANG's agency YG Entertainment is yet to make an official announcement.
그러나 빅뱅의 소속사 YG엔터테인먼트는 아직 공식 발표를 하지 않고 있다.
"I haven't received any messages about the group's future activities," a YG spokesperson told The Korea Times, Wednesday. "I think the members would have to be discharged from the military in the first place. We will come up with a statement when it is ready."
YG엔터테인먼트 측 대변인은 지난 수요일 코리아타임스와의 인터뷰에서 "그룹의 향후 활동 계획에 대한 이야기를 듣지 못했다"라며 "빅뱅 멤버들은 먼저 전역부터 해야 한다. 준비되면 공식 성명을 낼 것"이라고 밝혔다.
G-Dragon's words have resurfaced following his bandmate T.O.P's previous announcement . T.O.P commented on Instagram that he would not return to the entertainment industry.
그룹 동료 탑(본명 최승현)의 지난 발언에 이어 지드래곤의 글이 다시 수면 위로 떠올랐다. 탑은 연예계로 복귀하지 않을 생각이라며 자신의 인스타그램에 글을 남겼다.
"Yes! God! I have no plan to come back," he wrote. He was responding to a netizen, who had suggested he take time for self-reflection and not return. In July 2017, the rapper was given a 10-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, for smoking marijuana multiple times in 2016.
탑은 "네! 하느님! 저도 (연예계로 복귀)할 생각 없습니다"라고 직접 글을 달았다. 이는 "자숙하며 복귀할 생각을 하지 말라"는 한 누리꾼의 댓글에 대한 답글이었다. 탑은 2016년 수차례에 걸쳐 대마초를 피운 혐의로, 2017년 7월 징역 10개월에 집행유예 2년을 선고받았다.
G-Dragon was also mired in a marijuana scandal for allegedly smoking the drug at a club in Japan in 2011. In February 2018, he began serving his mandatory military service but stirred a debate for allegedly receiving preferential treatment while being enlisted. He was released on Saturday.
지드래곤도 2011년 일본의 한 클럽에서 대마초를 흡연한 혐의로 파문에 휩싸인 적이 있다. 2018년 2월 군복무를 시작했으나 복무 중 특혜를 받았다는 이유로 논란도 일어났다. 그는 지난 토요일 전역했다.
BIGBANG debuted with five members ― G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, T.O.P and Seungri ― in 2006, but Seungri left in March this year after a nightclub affiliated with him was mired in a various scandals involving drugs and sex crimes. Taeyang and Daesung, who are currently serving their country, will also be discharged in November.
빅뱅은 2006년 5명의 멤버(지드래곤, 태양, 대성, 탑, 승리)로 데뷔했다. 하지만 승리가 연관된 클럽 ‘버닝썬'이 성매매 및 마약 스캔들에 휘말리며 ‘버닝썬 게이트'로 커졌고, 승리는 지난 3월 그룹에서 탈퇴했다. 현재 군복무 중인 태양과 대성은 11월 제대할 예정이다.
