The Seoul city government is accepting applications until June 18 from international entrepreneurs or investors who plan to start businesses here and want to take advantage of 20 incubation offices it is offering.
The Seoul Global Center near Jonggak Station in central Seoul will provide space for 10 offices, while the Gangnam Global Business Center in COEX in southern Seoul will house two; the Yeouido Global Business Center in Yeouido, five; and the Southwest Global Center in Daerim-dong, three.
Seoul launched the office rent program in 2010, producing 58 startup companies so far.
Those selected will be able to use the offices for six months from July, and can extend the period for up to six months if they pass a city government review.
They can use the offices and equipment such as fax machines, as well as have access to programs such as counseling with legal and tax experts, regular one-on-one advice from a mentor, meetings with other foreigners who successfully opened businesses here and a chance to introduce their business plans to investors.
Any legally staying foreigners in Korea who plan to start their proposed business within a year, or who started the business within the past year, can apply.
Those selected will be announced on June 29. For more information, visit global.seoul.go.kr.
