President Park Geun-hye will stress bipartisan cooperation in her parliamentary address in order to boost the sluggish economy, the presidential spokesman said Monday.
Park is scheduled to give a budget speech at the National Assembly on Wednesday for the second year in a row.
"President Park plans to explain the nation's budget for next year, while calling for the National Assembly to cooperate with the government's drive to revitalize the economy," Cheong Wa Dae spokesman Min Kyung-wook told reporters.
While the National Assembly was locked in political disputes earlier this year, Park has urged lawmakers to process economic bills.
Meanwhile, Park, who is scheduled to meet with ruling and opposition party leaders after her address, will meet with members of the ruling Saenuri Party before the speech in what could be a move to coordinate plans on such pending issues as the public servants' pension reform bill.
