Park Jung-sook, professor of the Institute of International Education at Kyung Hee University, will work as the goodwill ambassador for the ``Korea Food Expo 2010,’’ according to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries and the Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corporation, Sunday.
``Park has been continuously interested in our products and also has a keen eye for international relations. This is why we have decided to appoint her as the goodwill ambassador,’’ the ministry said.
The Korea Food Expo 2010 will be held at COEX in Samseong-dong from Nov. 18 to 21 and introduce visitors various types of Korean food. The expo will include various booths and events, offering an easy and quick way to learn more about Korean food and culture.
A television journalist-turned-Korean wave expert, Park has been seen in numerous positions, both in the private and public sector, because of her extensive involvement in cultural activities and public relations. She served as an advocate of the Geneva–based Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization in Korea since 2009 and also as the chief executive officer of the Asia Treasure Network. Park is also the goodwill ambassador for The Korea Times. Previously, she played the role of Queen Munjeong in the hit drama ``Jewel in the Palace’’ in 2003.
