A rising trend among Korean workers involves lunchtime, lodgings and a lover.
It seems more prefer getting intimate with their romantic partner than grabbing lunch.
A local room reservation smartphone app revealed Tuesday that activity jumps about 40 percent from 10 a.m. to noon, according to the Huffington Post. The company said the period is when most people call to inquire about booking a room.
Not all daytime lodgers tag along with their romantic partners. Some come alone simply to take a rest away from the office.
"If it weren't for customers who come during the lunch hours, our business could not possibly generate a profit," the company said.
And it is not just sex. Some workers use the one-hour break around noon for other pursuits, including language classes and exercising at a fitness club.
One cafe in Mapo-gu, Seoul, is offering patrons a spot where they can nap during lunch, which earned the venue the nickname "nap cafe."
Movie theater chain CGV at IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul, has a premium theater where patrons can sleep during a movie. The cost, with popcorn, is 10,000 won ($9).
