Nighttime tours available at palaces in Seoul
서울 고궁, 야간 관람 프로그램 제공

As Seoul loosens its social distancing rules, the city's royal palaces are resuming their special nighttime tours. Among them, Changdeok Palace is running a "moonlight tour" that offers not only incredible palace views but also night cityscapes. Guided by the delicate glow of "cheongsachorong" (traditional lanterns), visitors can enjoy a unique and unforgettable evening.
서울시가 사회적 거리두기를 풀면서 도심 고궁에서 야간 관람 프로그램이 재개되고 있다. 그 중 창덕궁은 아름다운 궁내 경관뿐만 아니라 도시 야경을 제공하는 ‘달빛기행'을 운영 중이다. ‘청사초롱(전통 손전등)'의 우아한 빛의 안내를 받아 방문객은 잊지 못할 특별한 저녁을 즐긴다.
Changdeok Palace is one of the five grand palaces built during the 1392-1910 Joseon Kingdom. Built in 1405, it is the second royal residence following Gyeongbok Palace. It includes official affairs buildings, royal family residence buildings and the famous Huwon (Secret Garden) with a lotus pond and pavilions. UNESCO designated the palace as a World Cultural Heritage site in 1997.
창덕궁은 조선왕조(1392년-1910년) 동안 지어진 고궁 5개 중 하나다. 1405년에 건축된 창덕궁은 경복궁에 이은 두 번째 국왕의 처소다. 창덕궁은 공무 집행실, 왕실 주거 건물, 그리고 연꽃 호수와 별관이 있는 유명 화원 (비밀 정원)을 포함한다.
The moonlight tour begins at the main gate of Donhwamun, where visitors can take a commemorative photo with a chief gatekeeper in traditional attire.
달빛기행은 방문객들이 전통 의상을 착용한 수문장과 함께 기념사진 촬영을 할 수 있는 돈화문의 정문에서 시작된다.
Then visitors cross the Geumcheon Bridge, the oldest extant bridge in Seoul originally built 1411, to look around Injeongjeon Hall, the main throne hall of Changdeok Palace and National Treasure No. 225, and Huijeongdang Hall, which was originally used as the king's sleeping quarters and was later used by the king as an office and reception hall.
다음으로 방문객은 1411년 처음 건축되어 서울에 현존하는 가장 오래된 다리인 금천교를 건너 창덕궁의 중앙 홀인 인정전과 국보 225호이자 국왕의 침전이었다가 이후 왕의 집무실 및 응접실로 사용된 희정당을 둘러본다.
Huijeongdang had gone through a series of destructions and reconstructions before it was burnt down in 1917. The present building was constructed in 1920 with the disassembled materials of Gangnyeongjeon Hall of Gyeongbok Palace.
희정당은 1917년 화재로 소실된 후 잦은 소실과 재건을 거쳤다. 현재 건물은 1920년 경복궁의 강녕전의 흩어진 재료를 모아 재건했다.
