Three out of every 10 employees who telecommute are experiencing "work-from-home (WFH) syndrome" as the pandemic rolls on and the boundary between work and life blurs.

According to a survey of 910 remote workers conducted by recruiting platform Job Korea from Sept. 3 to 10, 32.1 percent of the respondents said they have experienced the WFH syndrome, experienced as physical and emotional stress.
9월 3일부터 10일까지 채용 플랫폼 잡코리아가 910명을 대상으로 시행한 설문조사에 따르면 응답자의 32.1%가 신체적, 감정적 스트레스를 겪으며 재택근무 증후군을 경험했다고 답했다.
Where multiple answers were allowed, 54.8 percent said they experienced a feeling that they're still working even after work, similar to 46.2 percent who answered they are in a nervous and stressed state all day.
복수 응답 가운데 직장인 54.8%는 퇴근 후에도 여전히 일을 하고 있는 기분을 경험한 적이 있다고 답했는데 이는 46.2%가 하루 종일 긴장하고 스트레스 느끼는 상태라고 답한 것과 다름 없다.
"In a from-home working environment, the physical distinction between work and home life is pretty vague. I think that's why I can't get my mind off of work even when my computer is turned off and feel like I'm working all day," said a 28-year-old employee in Seoul who asked to be identified only by her surname Kim.
서울에서 거주하는 직장인 김 모씨(28)는 "재택근무 환경에서, 일과 삶의 물리적인 구분은 매우 모호하다. 그래서 컴퓨터가 꺼져도 업무 생각을 그만둘 수 없고 하루 종일 일하는 기분이 드는 것 같다"고 말했다.
Other negative aspects of the WFH syndrome in the survey included "stress from non-face-to-face communication" at 31.5 percent and "weight gain from a sedentary lifestyle" at 22.3 percent.
설문조사에서 재택근무 증후군의 부정적인 측면으로는 "비대면 소통으로 인한 스트레스(31.5%)"와 "주로 앉아 있는 생활 방식으로 인한 체중 증가(22.3%)"가 있었다.
On the pros of remote working, 78 percent answered the stress from relationships with colleagues has dropped.
직장인 78%는 재택근무의 장점으로 직장 동료와의 관계에서 비롯하는 스트레스 감소를 꼽았다.
