Two deluxe taxi drivers were found dead below a 7-meter high road in what is seen as an accident after they fell from an overpass during a fight over their turns to pick up customers, police said Wednesday.
Seocho Police Station said a fellow taxi driver found the unconscious bodies of the two drivers, 56 and 67 years old, on a road near the JW Marriott hotel in Banpo-dong, southern Seoul. The driver called the police and took them to a hospital, but both were declared dead shortly afterwards.
Police quoted their colleagues as saying the two drivers had fought several times over who was first in line to get customers.
Judging by their head injuries, police assume the two drivers fell near the taxi stand located near the railing of a 7 meter drop. The police have requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service.
