A man was arrested for killing his wife after a fight and also for attempting to murder his seven-year-old son who had witnessed the crime, Thursday.
According to police, the 38-year-old man, only identified as Lee, fought regularly with his wife, 35, as she continuously accused him of meeting another woman while he was working overseas. Lee returned to Korea in January after working abroad for three years.
The couple had an argument last Sunday, and when his wife continued to doubt him, Lee strangled her out of rage. When he realized that their son knew about the murder, he tried to strangle him as well.
The son survived with wounds to his neck, but Lee did not take his son to the hospital even after he regained consciousness.
When asked about the son’s neck, Lee said he cut the boy’s throat a bit to clear his airway when he realized he was still alive, police said.
