More than 6,200 students and employees of Hanyang University have donated blood in a 70-day blood donation campaign to celebrate its 70th anniversary, the school said Sunday.
It said a total of 6,211 people participated in the campaign that continued from March 9 through Saturday 8 p.m. The school has asked the Korea Record Institute to include the figure in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest number of blood donors in 70 days.
The institute will make a decision soon.
``This large-scale and long-term campaign was unprecedented so that its bid is likely to be successful,'' a record institute official said.
