Nayeon of K-pop girl group TWICE is hitting the ground running as a soloist.
K팝 걸그룹 ‘트와이스'의 나연이 솔로 아티스트로서 인기몰이 중이다.
Her first solo EP, "Im Nayeon," which came out June 24, secured the No. 7 spot on Billboard's main albums chart — the highest ranking for any K-pop soloist — according to Billboard, July 6 (local time.) The mini-album reportedly sold 57,000 copies in a week.
지난 달 24일 발매된 나연의 첫 솔로 미니앨범 '아이엠 나연(Im Nayeon)'은 빌보드 메인 앨범 차트에서 7위를 차지했는데, 이는 6일 기준(현지시간) 미국 빌보드에 따르면 K팝 솔로 가수 중 역대 최고 순위다. 이번 앨범은 한 주간 5만 7000장이 판매된 것으로 알려졌다.
With the EP and its lead single "Pop!" Nayeon made it onto 17 other Billboard charts including the Top Current Album Sales, World Album, World Digital Song Sales and Billboard Global 200.
나연은 이번 앨범과 타이틀곡 "팝!"으로 ‘톱 커런트 앨범 세일즈', ‘월드 앨범', ‘월드 디지털 송 세일즈', ‘빌보드 글로벌 200' 등 빌보드 내 총 17개 차트에 진입했다.
"Pop!" is also enjoying popularity on major streaming platforms in Korea, retaining the No. 4 and the No. 5 spots on Melon and Bugs, respectively, as of Friday afternoon. Its music video has reached the milestone of 62 million, too.
"팝!"은 국내 주요 스트리밍 플랫폼에서도 인기를 누리고 있으며, 8일 오후 기준 멜론과 벅스에서 각각 4위와 5위를 유지하고 있다. 뮤직비디오 조회수도 6200만 뷰를 돌파했다.
"Nayeon grabbed the top positions on different Billboard charts as soon as she made her solo debut," JYP said in a statement. "This is a testament to her global popularity."
JYP 측은 "나연이 솔로 데뷔와 동시에 각종 빌보드 차트 최상위 순위를 차지했다"며 "이는 나연의 글로벌 인기에 대한 증거"라고 전했다.
The 26-year-old, who just wrapped her all promotional activities for her new EP, said through JYP on Friday that she was happy to receive so much love.
이번 앨범의 모든 활동을 막 마친 이 26세 솔로 가수는 금요일 JYP를 통해 이렇게 많은 사랑을 받아 기쁘다고 전했다.
"I am sincerely grateful to those who gave me so much love," she said. "I will come back with music and performances that are more entertaining to listen and watch."
나연은 "많은 사랑을 주신 분들께 진심으로 감사드린다"며 "더욱 재미있게 보고 들을 수 있는 음악과 무대로 찾아오겠다"고 말했다.
