Hollywood star Brad Pitt will visit Korea this month to promote his new movie, "Bullet Train," the film's distributor said Friday. It would mark his fourth visit to the country since the first visit in 2011 to promote "Moneyball."

He will make the visit together with actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson, best known for his roles in films like "Avengers: Age of Ultron" (2015), "Tenet" (2020) and "The King's Man," Sony Pictures said. This is Taylor-Johnson's first time coming to Korea.

In Seoul, the two will engage in various promotional activities for the film ahead of its Korean release set for Aug. 24, according to the company.

"Brad Pitt, who has deep affection for Korean fans, expressed his intention to visit Korea by adjusting his busy schedule. He will meet with the press and fans on Aug. 19," a Sony Pictures official said.

"Bullet Train" revolves around Ladybug (Pitt), a trained assassin who is returning to the job after a brief hiatus. Hired by his handler Maria Beetle (Sandra Bullock), he is tasked with collecting a briefcase on a high-speed passenger train in Japan. But he realizes that the train is packed with other elite assassins, including Lemon (Brian Tyree Henry), Tangerine (Taylor-Johnson) and Prince (Joey King), all with interconnected goals.

The comedic action thriller, which was adapted from Kotaro Isaka's 2010 novel "Maria Beetle," is directed by David Leitch, whose credits include "Atomic Blonde," "Deadpool 2" and "Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbes and Shaw."

As the world learns to live with COVID-19, Hollywood stars are resuming their film promotion activities overseas. In June, Tom Cruise visited Korea with his "Top Gun: Maverick" co-stars, including Miles Teller, Glen Powell, Jay Ellis and Greg Tarzan, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Following their visit, the film topped 7 million admissions in Korea.
