토익스피킹 Part 3은 하나의 토픽에 대해 전화로 지인과 통화를 하고 있거나 설문 조사에 참여하고 있다는 설정 속에서 답하는 파트입니다. 외국 거주와 관련된 지인의 세 가지 질문에 직접 답변해보고, 모범답변을 바탕으로 나만의 답변을 완성해 보세요. 문제당 3초간 준비한 뒤 4, 5번은 15초, 6번은 30초간 답변하는 것을 연습해보세요.

Q4 모범답안: I lived in the United States for a year. I also lived in a couple of Asian countries, but I stayed in those countries for only about a month.

해석: 난 미국에서 일 년 동안 살았어. 또한 나는 두 곳의 아시아 국가에서도 살았지만, 그 나라들에서는 약 한 달 동안만 머물렀어.

Q5 모범답안: I went there to study English. I really enjoyed myself while I was there, but there were some things about the culture that were really new to me.

해석: 나는 영어 공부를 하기 위해 그곳에 갔었어. 거기에 있는 동안 정말 즐거웠지만, 내게는 정말 생소했던 문화도 있었지.

Q6 모범답안: People are very friendly there and they greet you even if they don't know you. I had to get used to that because we usually aren't friendly with strangers in our country. Also, I learned not to ask personal questions like "How much money do you make?" and "How old are you?".

해석: 그곳은 사람들이 매우 친절하고 너를 모를지라도 너에게 반갑게 인사를 해. 나는 그것에 익숙해져야만 했는데 우리나라에서는 보통 낯선 사람들에게 친절하지 않기 때문이야. 또한, "당신은 돈을 얼마나 버나요?"와 "몇 살이세요?" 같은 개인적인 질문을 하지 않는다는 것을 배웠어.
