BTS announces hiatus to let members pursue personal growth

J-hope will be first BTS member to release official solo album
제이홉, 방탄소년단 첫 솔로 앨범 발매 예정

For nearly a decade, the seven members of BTS had dedicated themselves to their group, which become the first K-pop act to top the Billboard main singles chart and receive two Grammy nominations.
근10년 동안 방탄소년단 멤버 7명은 K팝 가수 최초로 빌보드 메인 싱글 차트 1위를 달성하고 2개의 그래미 후보 지명을 받은 이 그룹에 헌신했다.

The septet seemed unstoppable when it sold more than 2 million copies of its latest anthology album, "Proof," in just one day, shortly after meeting U.S. President Joe Biden to discuss Asian inclusion and representation, May 31 (local time).
지난 5월 31일(현지시간) 이 7인조 그룹은 아시아 포용과 대표성에 대한 논의를 위해 조 바이든 미국 대통령을 만나고 얼마 뒤 하루 만에 최신 선집 앨범 'Proof'가 200만장 이상 팔리면서 천하무적인 듯 보였다.

But the group's huge success came at a price.
그러나 그룹의 큰 성공에는 대가가 따랐다.

Although each member had different tastes in music and beyond, they had to put those differences aside for their widely popular team, which is supported by millions of fans around the world.
각 멤버는 음악과 그 이상에 대한 취향이 달랐지만 전 세계 수백만 명의 팬이 응원하는 널리 유명한 팀을 위해 이러한 차이를 제쳐둬야 했다.

But from now on, BTS members will begin their solo ventures in various fields to restore their individual identities and seek personal growth.
하지만 앞으로 방탄소년단 멤버들은 각자의 정체성을 회복하고 성장을 위해 다양한 분야에서 솔로 활동을 시작할 예정이다.

Although the septet's management company, Hybe, said the members will juggle their solo and group projects, it seems that more focus will be placed on individual pursuits, considering the remarks that the singers made in the "Festa dinner" video posted on BTS' official YouTube channel, Tuesday evening, in celebration of the ninth anniversary of its debut.
이 7멤버의 소속사 하이브는 "멤버들이 솔로와 그룹 활동을 병행할 예정"이라고 밝혔지만, 화요일 저녁 데뷔 9주년 기념으로 방탄소년단 공식 유튜브 채널에 올린 '페스타 만찬' 영상에서 가수들이 한 발언을 고려할 때 개인 활동에 더 집중할 것으로 보인다.
