The University of Utah Asia Campus (UAC), located at Incheon Global Campus, will host an "Experience the UAC Day" event virtually, on Saturday, where prospective students can take undergraduate classes of the school in advance.
High school students and other university students across the country will be invited to join the event that will take place from 10 a.m.
Professors from the communications, psychology, film and media arts, urban ecology, civil and environmental engineering, computer and electrical engineering departments will provide online lectures so that the participants can experience their classes at the UAC.
The UAC faculty and current students will join the event to share about their lives at the university and provide information about admissions, entrance exams and scholarships.
The event is free of charge and anyone who wants to participate can apply through the website of the UAC's admissions office.
"Experience the UAC Day will be a great opportunity to experience University of Utah Asia Campus in advance, and it will be a meaningful time for students who wish to enter UAC, by learning more about the campus from our faculty and students," Brian Byun, the assistant dean of admissions, said in a statement.
The University of Utah, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, the United States, has over 160 years of history. It was selected as one of the world's top 100 universities by the global university evaluation agency, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
The Asia campus in Korea opened in September 2014, providing the same curriculum and diplomas as the U.S. campus.
The UAC said that the number of students admitted to the campus last fall semester increased by 70 percent compared to the previous year, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and 20 percent of the freshmen were international students from eight countries.
The priority application deadline for the spring semester of 2022 is Dec. 15, and the final deadline is Jan. 28, 2022. The priority deadline for fall semester of 2022 is March 30, 2022, and the final deadline is July 30, 2022.
