The Seoul Players present the 7th Annual Rocky Horror Shadowcast at Club Freebird near Hongik University in western Seoul, Friday and Saturday.

Billed as one of Seoul's top must-see Halloween traditions, the Horror Shadowcast is an event where a movie is screened, while at the same time performers act out and dance to the movie on a stage.

In Rocky Horror tradition, audience participation is very much encouraged, as is dressing up.

Another activity, known as riffing, is where audience members call back to actors on stage.

"During a normal show, an audience will sit quietly and watch the show. Not so with Rocky. Callbacks are highly encouraged from the audience throughout the show," the organizer said.

"Our Rocky Horror Shadowcast does differ from other productions. Due to the policy of the venue, we are not allowed to bring items such as toilet paper, rice or toast into the club, and for safety's sake there will be no throwing of items at the cast members.

"But we really would love to hear your callbacks throughout the show. There will also be cast and crew members seeded throughout the audience providing our own colorful commentary, so be on the lookout."

The performance is directed by Makrenna Sterdan and choreographed by Sydney Langford.

This show has always sold out in the past, so guests are encouraged to come early to guarantee admission.

Proceeds go to Seoul Players' upcoming productions, including its 7th annual 10 Minute Play Festival.

There will also be special appearances by the dancers of Starlight Productions, previewing their upcoming Star Wars-themed show, "The Rule of Two."

Formed here in 2001, Seoul Players is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based English-language theater group.

Performances are 10 p.m. on Friday and 9 p.m. and midnight on Saturday.

Tickets cost 10,000 won at the door.

Club Freebird is located about five minutes from Sangsu Station.

There will be a costume contest following the show on Friday and the second show on Saturday.
