Seoul City announced Thursday that it will open the Seoul International Travel Fair 2010 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul, from Sept. 13 to 17, with the participation of some 400 tourism experts from 20 countries.
A spokesman said the third annual event aims at making the value and future of a “globalized” Seoul known to the world and help it move a step higher as a tourist city.
Some 100 local tour agencies and about 90 others from 19 foreign countries, including China, Japan, India, the United States, Bolivia and Thailand will hold business consultations at the “Business Travel Mart,” which will open, Sept. 15 and 16, at the fair venue.
In the Seoul International Tourism Awards 2010 to be held at the Grand Ball Room, Sept. 16, , the organizer will award 11 individuals and institutions for their contribution to revitalization of the tour industry, in six categories, including tour commodities, tour companies, tour services, tourists and special division.
“We have changed the event to a business oriented one this year from the award oriented one over the past two years,” said an official of Seoul City.
