This week promises to offer more fun-filled and exciting activities as part of the on-going Hi Seoul Festival.

Dance the night away at the World DJ Festival in Nanjido from May 4 to 6. Organizers said the most popular event during last year's Hi Seoul Festival was ``Dance Mania." Unlike previous years when it was held in the crowded shopping district of Myeongdong, this year's event will be at the Nanjido campsite to accommodate thousands of people who will party all night.

The World DJ Festival starts at 9:30 p.m. on May 4, featuring world-renowned disc jockeys such as Dr. Motte, founder of the world's largest music festival Germany's Love Parade and Mondo Grosso, representing Shibuya-Kei. Top Korean disc jockeys will also show off their music.

At 3 p.m. on May 5, there will be a performance of ``B-boy Park," featuring Korean and Japanese B-boys, and hip-hop musicians. It will be followed by a live concert featuring Korean indie bands at 8 p.m. Then, the World DJ Festival starts again at 10 p.m. and goes on until dawn.

On May 6, there is a World Rhythm festival that starts at 11 a.m., followed by a cosplay event at 2 p.m.

A musical ``Royal Dream of the Hwaseong" will be staged at Gyeonghui Palace at 8 p.m. from May 4 to 6. The musical celebrates the life of King Jeongjo who built Hwaseong in Suwon.

Another exciting event is the 1st International Tightrope Walking Competition from May 3 to 5 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) at Seonyudo. There has been revived interest in rope walking, after it was featured in the hit film ``The King and the Clown."

Around 18 master ropewalkers will cross a single rope over the Han River, in an attempt to set a Guinness world record for the world's longest single rope walking. The event will be broadcast around the world through international sports channel ESPN.

Fashion and music fans will definitely enjoy the first-ever ``Hallyu Star Fashion Festival" on May 5. The Seoul Fashion Center and Seoul city government organized the event featuring a runway fashion show and pop concert.

Organizers expressed hope the participation of Korean actors, actresses and pop stars would boost the profile of Korean fashion around Asia. Stars are expected to wear the top-notch designs of top Korean designers such as Jinteok, Lie Sang-bong, Im Seon-oc and Park He-rin.

Korean stars expected at the event include Super Junior, Bada, Psy, Son Ho-young, Shinhwa member Andy Lee, Baby Vox Re.V and Paran. Some of the stars will hold autograph-signing events after the show. There will also be an online auction of the designer clothes worn by stars and the proceeds from the auction will go to a charity fund to benefit children with incurable diseases.
